One Hour Of Reggae Classics From Studio One And More

Science dropped by joppa AKA Arthur Jopparelli. Jul-30-2011

Hi everybody, if you follw us from a few years you know that Summer is Reggae time for us. There are a lot of festivals here in Italy and most are focused on Jamaican music. Here’s my little contribution: I had the opportunity to play records at BG Reggae Sunfest in my area, in the North of Italy, I had a lot of fun with my friends, therefore I recorded my set for you to have fun as well. It’s mostly early Reggae, with a lot of instrumentals, raw and vibrant vibes as in my previous selections.

Reggae music is a vast universe, here you have the chance to hear some classics. Most are very famous tunes: it’s a very straightforward selection but I think its enjoyable anyway, especially if you’re beginnin to explore this universe, as we did few years ago.

If you’re looking for more sophisticated Reggae playlists check the Skoolbwoy mixes featured here, you won’t be disappointed. This was a Studio One tribute set, so there’s a lot of stuff from Coxsone Dodd’s legendary label, and a lot of Soul music covers played by Reggae artists as well, mostly taken from the excellent “Studio One Soul” compilation albums by Soul Jazz Records.

Willie Williams – Change Your Evil Ways\Jah Righteous Plan (Studio One Smile Riddim)

That’s all for now, gotta let the music speak as usual, enjoy the set and tracklist on our brand spanking Mixcloud account:
