Awesome, top notch – mad dope – true vibin’ real hip hop flava!

I was there. I grew up in NYC 80s and 90s and listened to, honestly, Red Alert on 98.7 kiss more, but always rocked the Mr. Magic & Marley Marl mixes.

Fans of hip hop worldwide – listen up:

This page should be linked from every major hip hop website, this is our lost history. It is the reason you get to listen to any hip hop/rap/urban/whatever record today. Simply, these guys started it. Period.

Big Up to the collection master!

Please send me links to the other WBLS and old school mixes.

First one was Clark Kent, second one was Mr Magic.
In the future I ll post Chuck Chillout, Pete Rock & Marley Marl, more Mr Magic, Red Alert, more Clark Kent and more Marley Marl.
    Take care.

Great post as always, but didn’t you guys think it was weird timing, with the heart attack and all? I guess it doesn’t matter; anyone who doesn’t know about Marley Marl needs to learn ASAP. Thanks for your support on my blog, be sure to check it out, all comments are appreciated! http://hiphopisntdead.blogspot.com

  6. Marty says:

You know what Max? I didn’t know about the heart attack, really!

I am just posting one mix every month. Just a bad conincidence maybe.
