Let’s cross musical borders once again. I am not going to talk about one, not two, but three completely different types of music. First come first: Keith Jarrett.
Keith Jarrett was born May 8 1945 in Allenton (Pennsylvania), check the biography here. He is one of the central figures in contemporary Jazz, a high-level pianist that in the last 40 years has given a crucial contribute to this music. His technique is superb, his approach is unique. He makes love with the piano, and the piano gives love back to him. Keith Jarrett is still pumping out brilliant records, despite his battles with chronic fatigue. His influence on modern music is huge and that is what I am about to demonstrate.
Second one: Cinematic Orchestra. This is a group formed in the late 1990s by Jason Swinscoe. They play an excellent mix of Jazz and Rock fusion, with a smooth and dreamy electronic touch. I have just discovered their music but what I can already say is that it’s perfect to chill. Nice and easy baby! Ninja Tune rocks!
Last but not least: DJ Mayonnaise. If you don’t know him, you better pull over. He is one of the most underrated turntabilist and as often happens when you are underrated, you are talented! And in fact he is god damn talented! This mix is out of the hook. What do you think about it?
Ok Marty but…..where is the connection? Mmm…let me think about it, let’s see if I can figure it out…… Yes I got it: You Know, You Know by Keith Jarrett has been sampled by Cinematic Orchestra – “All that you Give” and by DJ Mayonnaise – “Center of the Universe”
