Ritmo Radio Show – 31.10.2015 – new season episode #8 – M&J in the mix

Science dropped by joppa AKA Arthur Jopparelli. Dec-19-2015

Here’s the second of our mixes for this season’s RITMO RADIO SHOW. In this episode (from min 11’15″) you’ll find a 30 min african-inspired selection, exploring the fascinating mysteries of polyrhythms in african music and disco music. Our mix, a vinyl-only one as usual, features some of the records i bought recently that i’m already deeply in love with. We chose to start the selection with the voice of a master drummer explaining the philosophical side of the matter, in case you were wondering how seriously we take this stuff.

We have a killer tune by King Sunny Ade, and then a Joe Claussel haitian production, a Daphni remix for Sofrito, a couple of Jeri-Jeri tunes alongside a lot of stuff i’m very comfortable playing in these days, even if some of them could sound hard-to-digest to some public. Well, not to us so there you go! This is the #svuotazza attitude: play records straight from your heart, don’t follow the hype of the moment, and the audience will eventually follow you (but who cares anyway lol).

Time to let the music speak! Don’t forget to hit us up on twitter (Jopparelli or Martini) if you have any comment or question. Peace!
