Hey, it’s been a while since we dropped our infamous “25 songs” type selections. Call it as you prefer: selections, playlists, suggesting good music. At the end of the day, that’s what this blog is about isn’t it? So let me pick up the best records for you like I was Quincy Jones.

This time i chose a set of tunes that I’ve been listening a lot lately. Meditation vibes, breaks, soundtracks, inspiring stuff, rare stuff, covers and classics, all the stuff we love to play here at M&J, you know the deal.
Soul, Funk, Afro Beat, Reggae, Hip Hop…a playlist you can listen to while cooking, chilling with your homies, surfing the web or building a LEGO crawler town.
I called it “Chosen People” selection because I see lot of talent in this tunes, and when you’re blessed with so much talent, you’re a chosen one. Let’s see some highlihts before jumping to the full playlist.
The melodies you will easily recognize are an amazingly good “Light My Fire” cover by Charlie Watts Band, a reggae version of Herbie Hancock’s “Cantaloupe Island” theme, Johnny Osbourne singing “Ready Or Not” like he was Lauryn Hill, a fantastic Disco cover of “Why Can’t We Live Together” produced by Cerrone, the Temptations’ “Law Of The Land” gone reggae, the Gentle Giant playing Spartacus with his magic flute, a moanin’ beat-Tony D style, the best track outta new Mulatu album and more….well every song is a hit actually.

Tracklist:
