DJMP45 provided us our favourite hip hop mixtape from the 90′s. For me, mr. Martini and the rest of the crew this mixtape is special because it’s the one that represents most our 20′s age. Said that, it should be easy for you to understand how much we love this old tape. And of course, as always, we are glad to share it with you! Let’s go with the mix review by DJMP45…have fun!
[DJMP45] This time we’ll give you some really exclusive stuff straight from my crates (shoebox actually….):
In 1996 I went on a trip to New York and I found this mixtape at a downtown spot (I can’t remember the name of place…god, it was more than 10 years ago!!!!) between hundreds other mixtapes: at that time the mixtape game was quite stale due to the fact that most dj’s were playing almost the same tunes and who had the most “exclusives” was the winner and was quite difficult to find something different.
I remember taking this back to my hometown and everybody wanted a copy so badly!!!
I remember my man Marty telling me “this is one of the best mixtape “…right???
Dj Chubby Chubb was Original Flavor’s Dj (Ski second group after the Bizzy boys) and you might remember him on the “Can I get open” video.
This mixtape is a little bit different because you have quite few underground tracks (some of them I don’t even know what they are!!) and the dj apart from few shouting show at least some skills on the doubles.
There are some underground classics on this one like Saukrates, Children of the corn, Finsta Bundy, Camouflage Large, Rawcotiks and Big Kwam that I absolutely love…if you know them, then you’ll know what I mean, if not give a listen to it!
Thanks to my man Joppa for digitizing it.
If you want us to put more of this kind of mixtapes, you have to drop at least 20 comments on this one!

great mix… many unheard gems even for a hardened head.
So good! It’s awesome to hear the young vocals of such veterans now, particularly old b-c-cs/sean price jams.
